Ivan Zvarík graduated in 1995, from the class of opera singing at the
Conservatory in Žilina, as a bass. Following, he pursued opera and concert
singing studies under prof. Eva Blahová at the Academy of Performing Arts in
Bratislava, graduating in 1999. In 2009 he completed his ArtD. studies at the
Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.From 2018 he is college lecturer at the music academy.

Since 2000, he has been a soloist of the State Opera in Banská Bystrica, while in
2010 he also became a permanent guest artist of the State Theatre Košice.
During his studies he collaborated with the State Opera in Banská Bystrica and
the Chamber Opera in Bratislava, ŠKO Žilina, the Prague Chamber Orchestra,
and the State Philharmonic of Brno. He has completed master classes both at
home and abroad (Czech Republic, Holland, Germany and Austria). He
performs in Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany,
Poland, Italy, Slovenia and Japan. He participated in opera festivals in Germany
(Isny, Kempten, Munich) and Italy (Salerno, Lagonegro). He has worked in
theaters in Sweden, Germany, Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, Rome and
Košice State Theater.

He mastered the entire bass repertoire and has performed alongside opera stars
such as Ľubica Vargicová, Peter Dvorský, Jolana Fogašová, Adriana Kučerová,
Jana Kurucová, Cristina Baggio, Agnieszka Zwierko, Štefan Kocán, Miroslav
Dvoský, Pavol Breslik. He has performed many concerts and independent
recitals including at an opera recital in Rome in 2016. He has worked with
prominent personalities of the music world, including Italian conductor Fabio
Mastrangelo, legendary director Gianfranco De Bosi, Tomas Tomaschke and
others. He is also teaching singing and solfeggio at Jan Albrecht Music and Art
Academy in Banska Štiavnica. He is the holder of the Slovak Price for the
character of Fiesco in Verdi´s opera „Simon Boccanegra“ as well as the figure of
Cerevika Operas Soroć’s Fair from MP Musorgsky.
